Before slavery and colonialism, there was Africa, the wealthiest continent on the face of the earth. Inhabited by beautiful people and thriving civilizations, Africa became the subject of envy to the western world. This is where I am from, the birthplace of my ancestors. The land from whose soil my skin is shaded, therein lies the deep roots to my pride.
Dear black child, it is important to realize that the oppression you face today is not a consequence of your deeds, but an evil injustice against your being. The land of your forefathers was intruded upon, by evil man seeking to exploit its people and wealth. Their evil was rooted in the desire to enrich themselves and their rulers. They marched upon our land and ruled with an iron fist, while their evil counterparts bound our people in chains, and sailed them across the Atlantic.
For 400 years, in the “land of the free,” our people were bound like animals and forced into labor. To motivate compliance, they were beaten into submission and had entire limbs pardoned from their person. They were legally property to their masters and seen a commodity for trade. Black men and women were taken from their homes, only to be violated by demons chasing profit.
In Africa, the motherland, our oppressors began to conquer entire nations. The age of colonialism was a successful effort from European nations to exploit Africa and her riches. They systematically drafted and enforced laws that would maintain their superiority upon our land. Most of these laws are still in play today, even after decades of our so-called “independence”.
History has never been our ally because history is a white man. It breaks my heart to see the hate that they have inherited towards our people. As much as I hate to generalize, the silence to injustice and brutality makes the silent complicit!
Dear black child, know your worth. You were not born to hate nor were you born to fight. You simply inherited oppression because the white man knows your value. Being black is your superpower and because they can’t have it they fear you. They choose to spend their days trying to belittle you in order to undermine your worth. Don’t let their evil intentions see the light of day. Before you give in to their hate, remember an evil character is beneath your tier.
Dear white people, we deserve an apology!
